Stir the Class

Materials Needed

Piece of paper numbered down the side (usually from 10 to 20 as the highest number) for each student.

Each student fills in the first three lines with items as indicated by the teacher: List three good books you recently read; give three underlying causes for the war; list three points of geographical interest in Wisconsin. At a signal students move to partners. Partners share their list and each takes one item from the other’s list. The process continues, each student taking an item from each person they visit.

This is an excellent activator or summarizer depending upon the phrasing of the question and where in the unit of learning the structure is used.
