Line Ups/Estimation Line-Up

Materials Needed

Space and question for estimation


Students are asked to make a “guestimate” answer in response to the teachers question. The students then line up in the order of their answers from low to high. The teacher needs to be sure to designate which location/end of line is the low and which is the high answer.

Options: TURN AND JOIN….bends the line in the middle. DIVIDE AND SLIDE…. Ddivides the line into two halves and slides them in front  of each other.


Occasionally it is fun to ask students to get in line WITHOUT talking or showing their answer, but by sign language alone.
